Holiday Self-Care
“Sometimes the best way to clear your mind is to step outside and listen to the hush of winter.”

Today’s Blogmas moment isn’t about making or baking, it’s about breathing. A short winter walk can do wonders when the days feel full and the lists grow long.

The world looks different this time of year, the soft light, the muted colors, the air crisp enough to make you tuck your scarf a little tighter. Even a few minutes outdoors can bring you back to yourself. Notice the crunch of frost beneath your boots, the quiet of bare branches, and the way your breath turns to mist in the cold.

Think of it as self-care, the simplest kind. No timer, no to-do, just you and the season, a small reminder that even in stillness, there’s beauty. ❄️

Love this Sherrill. I am finally back in NV. No winter walk here. But– it’s been a month so far. From stupid truck driver drama to the the transmission that blew in my Escape on my way to Idaho at the first of the month wow it’s a December for the books. Got my car back repaired Thursday and drove 12 hours yesterday. Today started with a Gong fu style tea- not a walk but just as good for my soul. Later I get to start crocheting my rustic nativity which was supposed to done but had to wait on a blown tranny. I hope that you, Sherrill and all the lovely makers on the list are all finding their peace this am however that might look.

    Cheers everyone!

That is quite a month for the books, Karen! It’s great to hear you’ve arrived safely in NV, and even without the winter weather, you’ll find your “good for you” moments. Take care.
