A Hat from the Stash
“Every home has a corner that feels like a hug, mine is especially lovely in December.”

Today’s Blogmas share is a project that fits two of my favorite things: using yarn from the stash and knitting something cozy. The 53 Row Hat by Madelyn Santa is available as a free download on Ravelry.

Why this hat is a perfect December make:

  • It’s designed in a bulky gauge (US 9/5.5 mm or US 10/6 mm) so it knits up quickly.

  • The striped color-block body means you can dive into a stash of bulky yarn scraps and let them shine.

  • Finished size (approx. 19” circumference) makes it an easy on-the-go gift.

This season, it doesn’t have to be elaborate. Sometimes a hat, made from yarn you already love, is all the creativity you need.

Here’s to yarn found, needles warmed up, and a little more head-hugging warmth this winter. 🧶
