Welcome to Blogmas
“Welcome, friends, to another season of Blogmas—25 days of cozy reads, small joys, and holiday cheer.”

Welcome to the first day of Blogmas 2025! ✨

To kick things off, I’m sharing a little stitching pattern with you—a free PDF of a Crewel Embroidered Bird of Paradise Pattern posted by Vingtage Crafts and More of a free vintage Coats & Clark’s leaflet.

Now, a small note of clarification: although the leaflet uses the word “crewel”, the design was originally meant for their O.N.T. (Our New Threads) 6-strand floss. That technically doesn’t make it crewel work. But don’t let that stop you, the design itself is absolutely charming and works beautifully in true crewel embroidery or any cotton floss.

So, if you find a pocket of quiet time this December, why not let your needle wander over this Bird of Paradise? It’s a lovely little project to bring some extra color and joy to your stitching days.

Happy stitching, and happy December 1st! 🕯️🧵

Thank you for sharing this resource. Coincidence that it looks like a partridge missing its pear tree? LOL!

Didn’t even connect the dots on the piece and the day. 🙂 Thank you!

That is a pretty design. Did you do the embroidery on the one shown in this post? It is nice. Anyway Happy 1 Dec. to you. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. Yes, I did stitch the one in the post photo; it was a fun piece.
