#spin15aday2021 post no. 2

Yes, it’s Boxing Day! Not something the USA celebrates, though it has always been a day that I spend thinking ahead to the next holiday season.

With next year already in mind, I created a simple Holiday Gift Making List pdf that you can print or use as a guide line to make a list of supplies you have on hand and what gifts you can lovingly create for those special folks to gift to next year.

Keep it simple, use up what you have, be it wool to spin into yarn for a hat or scraps of fabric to make into something that can be used in the kitchen for a friend or family member.

If you are out of a supply, turn to a small business locally or online. It may not be as inexpensive as a box store, though think of it as supporting the making community you love.  Supporting the small business owner with purchases from them helps all of us in the end.  We love our making community.

I have my own list started and will share ideas I find as we move through the year.

Do you have some wonderful gift ideas to share?  You can complete the contact form or send me an email: sherrill  at the1764shepherdess dot com.  If I post your gift idea you will be mentioned, so make sure to include your Instagram name.

Hi, I’m Sherrill, The 1764 Shepherdess.
I’m a maker based in the Pacific Northwest. With a love of wool, I have hosted spinning and fiber events and now find myself writing to encourage makers to slow down, work with intention, and reconnect with the history of crafting by hand. I look forward to having you join me on this journey!
