One of the quiet joys of slowing down is noticing what rises to the surface when you’re not rushing past it.
Recently, I came across a YouTube channel called Spin a Good Yarn, and in particular, a video where she shares her 2026 knitting planner. It caught my attention not because it was flashy or elaborate, but because it was thoughtful. Purposeful. Clearly shaped by how she makes.
Watching her walk through her planner felt less like being shown a system and more like being invited into someone else’s thinking process, how she tracks projects, how she plans (loosely), and how she gives herself room to change her mind. That, to me, is always the most valuable part.
It also reminded me of something I’ve been circling myself: there is no perfect planner, no ideal layout, no single right way to organize a making life. What matters is whether the tool you’re using supports your rhythms and intentions, not someone else’s.
If you enjoy seeing how other makers think through their year, or if you’re still gently shaping what 2026 might look like for you, her video is well worth the watch. Not for answers, but for ideas.
Sometimes all it takes is seeing how someone else does it to feel more at ease doing it your own way.
