How has the New Year begun for you, as a maker?

Here, it arrived quietly, sans fireworks, the evening spent in my knitting chair. There was no rush, no spectacle. Just wool, needles, and time.

I cast on a pair of socks for my oldest daughter’s birthday next month, and I’m happy (and a little surprised) to report that the first sock was finished and blocking within 24 hours. That may well be a personal record, especially considering they were knit on US 2 (2.75mm) needles, which hardly qualify as speedy.
