This Christmas arrived bearing the one gift no one hopes for, the flu, and a particularly heavy dose of it at that. I’ll spare you the details, but I will say this: even my elbows hurt. How? I truly don’t know. But here we are.
Still, I wanted to sit down and share a few thoughts from the past couple of weeks, small moments that may help you approach a long-overdue project with a bit more ease and kindness.
You may have seen the news that western Washington was hit hard by some rather garish weather. Torrential rain brought flooding, evacuations, landslides, and levee failures, followed shortly by a windstorm that knocked out power for a very large number of homes. My daughter and I were both without power, and she wasn’t able to connect to her work files when the servers went down. She called out for the day and stayed home with the girls.
That left me with a day stretched wide open… and no power.
