This week’s spotlight is on Linsey, @mylovelylins

Q. Favorite fiber to spin?
Linsey: It changes, but two of my favorites are polwarth (high squish and poof factor) and BFL / Silk.  There are a lot I haven’t tried yet, so I look forward to getting new favorites.

Q. Do you prefer worsted or woolen methods of spinning?
Linsey: I naturally gravitate to worsted spinning but have really enjoyed woolen spinning when I have done it.

Q. Who or what inspires you?
Linsey: The colors created by all of the amazing dyers out there are so inspiring to me, there are so many talented people out there.  It is also really inspiring to be around people that are creating, it gives me a push to do more and try new things.

Q. Any future spinning goals?
Linsey: There are a million goals spinning through my head all the time.  I would like to improve my spindle spinning, spin through my stash, try new fibers and preparations (rolags!), create more art yarn, dye fiber and make my own batt.

Q. Do you knit, weave, or gift/sell your handspun?
Linsey: I have never given away or sold any of my handspun but I do like to knit and weave with it.  One of the techniques I want to try is weaving with energized singles.

Q. What has Instagram done for you in spinning?
Linsey: It is so inspiring to see all of the different spinners on Instagram.  I get to see new techniques, different tools and am constantly inspired by the beautiful objects created and shared.  In addition to being inspired, I have spun more this year than I spun all of last year!  Actually, all of my crafting has increased since getting involved in #spin15in15.

Q. Without spinning, what might your other passions be?
Linsey: It would be great to sew! There are so many cool blogs and Instagram users creating their own clothes and accessories.

I want to thank Linsey for taking the time to answer these fiber-minded questions and for being part of the #spin15in15 movement on Instagram.

Until next time…
