Book: The Magic of Shetland Lace Knitting

shetland laceMy search for information on Shetland Lace Knitting has not waned.  Today I found The Magic of Shetland Lace Knitting by Elizabeth Lovick at Weaving Works in Seattle, WA.

A book that is just the right size to fit into my knitting bag.  Full of stitch patterns, techniques and projects.  The seven project patterns are more than enough to cover a person from head to toe, including shawls, mitts, a hat/scarf set and socks.  A baby set is also included.

I think what sold me on the book was the stitch directory with various insertions, lace and motifs to choose from. The beginning starts with some history on Shetland Lace Knitting and then goes into techniques on how to pull it all together.  For those that like to keep their book library to a minimum, I would suggest this to be the one book to add to your collection.

What better to spin my wool for than to knit Shetland lace.
